SPEAKERS
Aitor Sánchez García
Aitor, a Dietitian-Nutritionist and Food Technologist by training, has completed two official postgraduate degrees: on Human Nutrition and Genetic, Nutritional and Environmental Conditions of Growth and Development. He has conducted research at the University of Granada, Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), and University of Bristol (United Kingdom). Professionally, he is dedicated to promoting healthy food habits in different media. He has written different scientific articles and five books, including Your Diet Could Dave the Planet. He is the CEO of Aleris Nutrition Center and Aleris Academia where health professionals receive nutrition training. He is an educator and trainer for different organizations and non-profit entities. Further, he dedicates a great part of his life to youth associations in Spain.
Batuhan Inanlar
Batuhan is pursuing his PhD at the Technical University of Istanbul (ITU), delving deeper into the intricacies of food science and technology. He is actively involved in practical application as a food engineer at BITKIDEN, where he contributes his expertise to various projects. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is passionate about fighting misinformation in the realm of food. As a content producer on social media, he strives to raise awareness and combat infodemia by providing accurate and reliable information to the public. Batuhan aims to make meaningful contributions to both the academic and public spheres of food science and engineering. He started working as a Food Engineer at the Plant Based Foods Association and currently serves as a project manager.
MODERATORS
Muhammad Aamir Khan
Muhammad Aamir is a recent graduate of Quaid-I-Azam University, Pakistan, now working as a research associate at the National Agricultural Research Center, Pakistan. He holds a master’s degree in Plant Sciences with a specific emphasis on Wheat molecular biology. In his current role, he is uncovering genetic variations for genes related to grain number in wheat. In his leisure time, he enjoys hiking and playing sports. You can find him on X: @MAKNature1998.
Ann-Kathrin Rößling
Ann-Kathrin is a 2024 Plantae Fellow and a PhD student at the University of Freiburg in Germany, researching intracellular mechanisms using confocal microscopy in Arabidopsis roots to gain a better understanding of vacuolar morphology and developmental dynamics. In addition to her scientific pursuits, she enjoys reading, both fiction and non-fiction, and is passionate about illustrations and artwork. You can find her on X: @AK_Roessling.
