The Future of Our Food Systems: Insights into GMOs

April 10, 2020/in Blog /by Mary Williams

By Sessen Daniel, Modesta Abugu, Aya Bridgeland, Godwin James and Pratheek Pandesha

Our project aims at introducting genetic engineering in agriculture to 8th-9th graders, debunking some fake news on GMOs and enabling students to address the issue with a “scientific consciousness“. The lesson plan consists of: 1) a Bingo game and a questionnaire as ice-breaker activities; 2) two infographics aimed at introducing milestones in GMOs; 3) a storyboard aimed at presenting a case study  which students can further elaborate in a classroom-project.
