Zeguang Liu: Plant Physiology First Author
Zeguang Liu, co-first author of “Ethylene augments root hypoxia tolerance via growth cessation and reactive oxygen species amelioration”
Current Position: Post-doctoral fellow at Vitamins & Environmental Stress Responses in Plants, BIVEG, University of Geneva, Switzerland
Education: PhD at Plant Ecophysiology, Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Msc, Bsc at Northwest A&F University, Yangling, China
Non-scientific Interests: Football, hiking, cooking
Brief bio: I studied at Northwest A&F University in Yangling, China for my bachelor and master degree, during which I developed my interest in plants and their interaction with surrounding environments. During my PhD studies under the supervison of Prof. Rens Voesenek and Dr. Rashmi Sasidharan, I focused on unravelling the significance of plant hormone ethylene as an early flooding signal in the conjoint stress event of hypoxia and re-oxygenation. Currently, I am working at the group of Prof. Teresa Fitzpatrick at University of Geneva as a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the regulation of vitamin B6 metabolism in plants in association with environmental stresses.
