Brief bio: After joining the Chair of Soil Physics at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, during my Ph.D., I had a great interest in understanding the fundamental processes in soil that impact plant behavior. I focused on the interactions between plants, microorganisms and the physical behavior of soil and how the changes in biophysical properties in the rhizosphere control plant water status under abiotic stress conditions. My doctoral work provided a new fundamental knowledge concerning the links between soil hydraulic properties and stomatal regulation under drought. I am looking forward to advancing my research interests and discovering knowledge leading to improving the capacity of food production.
