Current Position:

Postdoc, Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Qingdao, China

Education:

MS, Department of Horticulture, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China

PhD, Department of Animal, Plant and Soil Science, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia

Non-scientific Interests:

Reading, hiking and watching movies

Brief bio:

I am fascinated with plant stress responses and how plants cope with adverse growth conditions. My master’s thesis at Zhejiang University in China focused on the genetic variation in phosphorus uptake of watermelon under low phosphorus stress. In 2020, I obtained my PhD degree from La Trobe University in Australia under the joint supervision of Prof. Jim Whelan and Dr. Oliver Berkowitz. My research contributed to our understanding of the role of mitochondrial function and retrograde signalling in stress responses in Arabidopsis. Since 2020 I am working as a postdoc position at the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and continue to investigate the mechanisms of flooding tolerance by genome-wide association study in crops.
