Shicheng Zou: Plant Physiology First Author

Shicheng Zou, first author of “Transcription factor LcNAC002 coregulates chlorophyll degradation and anthocyanin biosynthesis in litchi

Current position: Key Laboratory of Biology and Genetic Improvement of Horticultural Crops‐South China/ Guangdong Litchi Engineering Research Center, College of Horticulture, South China Agricultural University, doctoral candidate

Education Background: 2012.09 – 2016.06 Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University (undergraduate)

2016.09 – 2019.06 South China Agricultural University (Postgraduate)

2019.09 – South China Agricultural University (doctoral candidate)

Non-scientific Interests: basketball, discus (National Second Class Athletes)

Brief biography:

Since the start of postgraduate program in South China Agricultural University, I have been focusing on research related to fruit (loquat and litchi) quality formation, especially molecular mechanisms of fruit coloration, and carried out functional analysis of coloration related genes. Results have been published in PLANT PHYSIOLOGY (first author), FOOD CHEMISTRY (first author), PLOS ONE (first author), and JOURNAL OF FRUIT SCIENCE (first author). In this study, we identified LcNAC002 as the interlink chlorophyll degradation and anthocyanin biosynthesis in litchi pericarp by co-activating the expression of LcSGR and LcMYB1.
