Brief bio:

Plant molecular biology and abiotic stress research area always fascinated me. During my master’s degree in Prof. R. Uma Shaanker’s lab, I elucidated epigenetic regulation of camptothecin (anti-cancer drug) production in endophytic fungus. With strong motivation, curiosity and efforts, I grabbed ICAR-International Fellowship for my Ph.D. in Prof. Alisdair Fernie’s lab. Here, I identified key transcription factors regulating tomato fruit ripening process by applying comparative transcriptomics and expression QTL approach.

After PhD, I joined Dr. Gitanjali Yadav’s lab at NIPGR, New Delhi, India. Here, I developed my skills in co-expression network construction and software testing, and studied molecular mechanisms underlying abiotic stress tolerance in Chick pea. In my second postdoctoral work, working with Dr. Tanushri Kaul, I am identifying key regulators of abiotic stress responses in pigeonpea and rice.
