Brief bio: I started to learn biology with my bachelor’s studies. I also took quite a lot of interesting practicums on plants, fungi and animals, which help me to figure out that plants are my favorite research subject. Therefore, I decided to work on the crossbreeding of lily in my master’s studies when I learnt how to do cytological analysis and cell biology experiments. We obtained some novel valuable hybrids in the end which encourage me to continue my research on plants. I am currently doing my PhD studies in Ghent University with the project “Control of centromeric cohesion during meiosis in Arabidopsis”. We identified the function of Protein Phosphatase 2A (PP2A) in plant meiosis. PP2A is a very conserved and important enzyme with multiple function in varies species. Our aim is to find the interactors of PP2A and illustrate the mechanisms it is involved in to have a better understanding of meiosis.
