Brief bio: My interest in plants started when I was a child, different vegetables and flowers in our garden were deeply attracting me to think why they have different colors and shapes. Wanting to understand these question led me to do scientific research and specifically plant molecular biology. I was very lucky to start the Ph.D. in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Dario Leister at the LMU Munich. Under the supervision of PD Dr. Tatjana Kleine I started studying chloroplast biogenesis and organellar gene expression in Arabidopsis. Here, we investigated extra-chloroplastic PP7L is a positive regulator of protein synthesis in the developing chloroplast, and involved in plant stress tolerance. My current research is focused on understanding the molecular function of PP7L and characterizing genes involved in plastid retrograde signaling.
