Recognizing Plant Direct authors: Craig Schenck

Craig Schenck, first author of Role of Cytosolic, Tyrosine-Insensitive Prephenate Dehydrogenase in Medicago truncatula

Current Position: NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Education: B.S. Plant Biology, Ohio, University; M.S. Molecular Biology, Ohio, University; Ph.D. Botany, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Non-scientific Interests: running, gardening, and my family

Brief bio: Craig is currently an NSF postdoctoral research fellow working with Rob Last in the Biochemistry Department at Michigan State University. He is interested in metabolic innovations that facilitate structurally diverse plant metabolites and their roles in plants. He uses phylogenetics and biochemistry to understand the evolution of plant chemical diversity.
