Yujiao Gao, first author of The endosperm-specific transcription factor TaNAC019 regulates glutenin and starch accumulation and its elite allele improves wheat grain quality

 Brief bio: I joined the Wheat Genetics and Genomic Center at China Agricultural University in 2014, studied for my doctoral degree under the direction of Prof. Yingyin Yao, and engaged in the research on the regulation mechanisms of wheat endosperm development. The main findings of the paper are as follows: 1. TaNAC019 can regulates glutenin and starch accumulation. 2. The three TaNAC019 homoeologs exhibit functional divergence. 3. The elite allele TaNAC019-BI improves wheat processing quality.

个人简介:2014年进入中国农业大学小麦研究中心攻读博士学位,导师为姚颖垠教授,博士期间从事小麦胚乳发育调控机制的研究。该文章的主要发现为:

1、TaNAC019可以调控小麦贮藏蛋白与淀粉的积累;

2、TaNAC019部分同源基因存在功能分化;

3、TaNAC019-BI单倍型有利于改善小麦加工品质。
