Brief bio:  The regulation of gene expression is central to many biological processes.  Using a combination of classical genetics, comparative genomics and multi-omics approaches, my research group studies the regulatory mechanisms of gene expression during crop (mainly maize and wheat) development and under stress conditions.  Our goal is to identify key cis-acting elements and trans-acting factors for use of precision editing and crop improvement.  In addition, my research interests include mining big data for the construction of gene regulatory networks, training machine learning models for the prediction of temporal/spatial gene expression patterns, as well as building standardized bioinformatics pipelines and data visualization in the pan-genomic era.

个人简介:我于2015年获得美国明尼苏达大学双城分校的博士学位,此后一直在美国从事生物信息学和植物遗传学相关的工作和研究。我探索的核心问题是:基因表达是如何受到调控的?我希望结合传统遗传学、比较基因组学和多组学数据挖掘等手段,以玉米和小麦为模型研究作物在生长发育过程和胁迫条件下的基因表达调控机制,鉴定关键的顺式调控元件和反式作用因子用于作物改良。此外,我的研究兴趣还包括大数据分析与整合构建植物基因调控网络,训练机器学习模型用于预测基因的时空特异性表达模式,泛基因组时代生信流程的标准化与数据可视化等。欢迎对生信感兴趣的同学加入我们团队!
