We’re excited to launch a novel initiative in support of early career plant scientists: the Plantae Conviron Seeding Discovery competition. The Seeding Discovery Competition will equip a successful university or college student with a state-of-the-art GEN1000 plant growth chamber that will enable them to fulfill a meaningful research program in the field of plant sciences, biology and biotechnology.
Contest Details
- The application period opens April 8, 2019 and runs through midnight on June 7, 2019
- Entrants will gain valuable experience, including crafting a research proposal that aligns with personal and departmental objectives and working with faculty and administration on the planning, logistics and reporting that research projects often entail
- The competition is open to any student enrolled in a post-secondary program at an institution with a physical address in either the USA or Canada
- The successful applicant will have a GEN1000 plant growth chamber provided by Conviron to their sponsoring institution

About the GEN1000 Plant Growth Chamber
The plant growth chamber awarded will be a Conviron model GEN1000 configured from the factory with a short plant kit (SH). The GEN1000-SH is suitable for research in propagation, genetics, physiology and a variety of other experiments. The unit can be situated in virtually any lab environment, is easy to install, can fit through a standard door, and includes casters with leveling feet for ease of positioning.
