Brief bio: I am a student of Biology, driven by a curiosity about how life works. I joined Dr. Yongjian Qiu’s laboratory at the University of Mississippi in 2019 to study how environmental stimuli trigger large-scale transcriptomic changes in Arabidopsis, especially with an increase in temperature as the stimuli. In this paper, we unravel a few pixels in the whole picture of how plants cope with increase in ambient temperature on a molecular level. We show that PIF4, a central transcription factor responsible for thermosensory growth, triggers transcription of its target genes with the help of a Mediator tail component—MED14.
