Brief bio: My interdisciplinary background starts with my B.S. in Bioinformatics and Ph.D. in Biochemistry and molecular biology. For my Ph.D., I worked on dissecting the interaction of ROP signaling network and phytohormone signaling in Arabidopsis thaliana, under the supervision of professor Li-Zhen Tao at South China Agricultural University (SCAU). I worked with professor Shuang Wu as a senior research associate at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University from 2015-2017, and joined Professor Haiyang Wang’s lab at SCAU in 2017 to study molecular and genetic control of maize development. We aim to dissect the molecular mechanisms of shade avoidance responses of maize under high planting density conditions, and help to develop strategies to breed high planting density-tolerant maize cultivars for increase yield per unit land area.
