Brief bio: I studied cell biology and genetic engineering in Kiev, Ukraine. My PhD degree I obtained by working on the development of transformation methods in Brassicaceae. Since moving to the Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK) Gatersleben in Germany I have been studying the molecular mechanisms of grain development and seed filling in cereal crops.
