Nicholas Zoulias, first author of Auxin and pattern formation of the Asteraceae flower head (capitulum)

Current Position: Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Sheffield.

Brief bio: Nick began his research career within the field of developmental biology by completing a PhD in the Kim laboratory working on a project which aimed to characterise the role of auxin in flower head development in the Asteraceae family. Following his PhD Nick took on a teaching focused role at The University of Sheffield within the department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBB) before commencing a position as a post-doctoral research associate working with Dr Stuart Casson within MBB. His current research is focused upon how environmental signals such as light and CO₂ regulate core developmental pathways within plants using stomatal development as a model system. Understanding these developmental processes is critical to unravelling plant water use efficiency in changing environments.
