Brief bio: I have been always interested in plant photosynthesis since four-year university career. So I started my PhD career in the Key Laboratory of Photobiology of CAS, where I started to study the molecular mechanism of how nuclear-encoded proteins regulate chloroplast development under the direction of Prof. Wei Chi from 2012. In 2013, I identified a RNA-binding protein BSF, which regulates chloroplast mRNA stability and translation. In collaboration with other researchers, we demonstrated that BSF has RNA- chaperon activity and it can remodel the secondary structure of target RNAs and then promotes their translation.
