Recognizing The Plant Cell author Yuyun Zhang

Yuyun Zhang, first author of An atlas of wheat epigenetic regulatory elements reveals subgenome-divergence in the regulation of development and stress responses

Current Position: PhD candidate, CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences

Education: BS from Northwest Agricultural & Forest University, Yangling, China

Non-scientific Interests: watching variety shows, playing Animal Crossing

Brief bio: I was fortunate enough to join the group of Zhang Yijing in the summer of 2018. The main research direction of the current research group is epigenomics of wheat. The large wheat genome contains rich regulatory mechanisms and elements. Compared with model plants and animals, there are fewer epigenomics studies on wheat, waiting for us to explore. During the ongoing PhD period, my main subject is to study the regulation of cis-regulatory elements in wheat. In the research process, I can feel the improvement of my skills and learning ability. I will continue to work hard!
