Brief bio: I was trained at the National Key Laboratory of Crop Genetic Improvement at the Huazhong Agricultural University, China.  In graduate school, I studied the molecular mechanisms of auxin action in rice in Prof. Yunde Zhao’s Laboratory. I mainly focused on the effects of auxin on the development of panicle and floret in rice. I employed the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology to generate knockout mutants of many putative auxin genes. Some of the CRISPR mutants including ospid displayed very interesting phenotypes. My correct research focuses on developing transgene-free genome editing technologies in plants and applying our newly developed gene editing technologies to study the regulatory networks of auxin-related genes in plants.
