Brief bio: In 2012, I passed the National Graduate Student Entrance Examination and became a postgraduate student of Nanjing Agriculture University majoring in plant nutrition. In 2014, I was lucky to start my PhD career under the supervision of Prof. Guohua Xu, the PI of the laboratory of plant nutrition biology that is affiliated with the State Key Laboratory of Crop Genetics and Germplasm Enhancement. My research topic was mainly focused on the cloning and functional characterization of key genes involved in the transport of phosphate in rice, especially on the identification of genes encoding plasma membrane localized proteins with putative activity to transport phosphate. I hope to switch to studying the regulation of plant phosphate transporters in the future, as some of the pivotal and important factors of this field are sophisticated and fascinating, yet largely remains unknown.
