Current Position: Associate Professor, Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China
Education: PhD in Genetics, Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China; MS in Botany, Northwest Normal University, China.
Non-scientific Interests: Table tennis, swimming, basketball, movies and travelling.
Brief bio: During my doctoral period, I had worked in the laboratory of Prof. Chuanyou Li, where I received training in plant genetics and developmental biology. My research projects had been focused on understanding the regulatory mechanisms of plant hormones, especially jasmonate and auxin, in fine-tuning plant development and defense in Arabidopsis. I spent much of the time to unravel the molecular mechanisms of Elongator in regulating Arabidopsis root development, which resulted in my PhD thesis. After graduation, I joined Prof. Alain Goossens’ lab at VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology, where I finished my two years’ postdoc research to study the molecular regulation of terpenoid metabolism in tomato. Currently, I am employed by Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, studying the molecular interplay between foot-and-mouth disease virus and its host cell.
