Brief bio: I was raised and educated primarily in Nevada, the lovely sagebrush state. After receiving my B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at UNR, I decided to stay in Reno and pursue my Doctorate in Dr. Jeffrey Harper’s lab. My research focused primarily on lipid flippases and their importance for plant growth, and evolved to include potential connections between flippases and the catabolism of specific sphingolipids. After obtaining my Ph.D. in Biochemistry, I joined the lab of Dr. Jeffrey Shen at UNLV as a Postdoctoral researcher.
