Brief bio: I am a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Gilliham’s Lab at ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology, University of Adelaide, having completed my PhD in the same lab in 2013. My area of expertise and focus is on characterizing the plant ion transport and signaling processes that contribute to abiotic and biotic stress tolerance. I have discovered proteins responsible for improving crop salinity tolerance, regulating cell-to-cell connectivity leading to improved disease resistance, and identified the mechanism by GABA acts as a signal in plants (and contributes to drought tolerance).
