Tongwen Han, co-first author of Rice Circadian Clock Regulates Tiller Growth and Panicle Development Through Strigolactone Signaling and Sugar Sensing
Education: M.Sc. in Sichuan Agriculture University; B.S. in Linyi University
Non-scientific Interests: basketball, chess and cooking
Brief Bio: I earned my M.Sc. degree in crop genetics and breeding from Sichuan Agricultural University, where I studied DNA methylation changes during maize genome doubling and distant hybridization. One of my projects during my Ph.D. research is to investigate roles of circadian clock in rice tillering and panicle development. In this study, I found that rice circadian clock integrates sugar signaling and regulates expression of strigolactone pathway genes to control tillering and panicle development. The other project is designed to investigate molecular mechanisms of inbreeding depression in maize.
