Brief bio: I joined Prof. Chao-Feng Huang’s lab in 2013 to pursue a Ph.D. During my Ph.D. period, I was trying to decipher the regulatory mechanisms of STOP1, which is an essential transcription factor for aluminum resistance in Arabidopsis thaliana. We found that SUMOylation, a post-translational modification, is involved in the regulation of STOP1 and aluminum resistance. In the future, we want to uncover additional layers of post-translational regulatory mechanisms of STOP1 and dissect the interaction among these potential regulatory mechanisms.
