Brief bio: I worked on Ganoderma lucidum metabolism in Biological Engineering lab at Kunming University of Science and Technology and completed my master study in 2016. At June of 2016, I joined the research team led by Prof. Wanqi Liang and Prof. Dabing Zhang for further study. My Ph.D project focused on rice pollen wall development, especially the molecular mechanisms on how the highly variable and species-specific pollen surface patterns are defined in flowering plants. We demonstrate that EPAD1 is a meiocyte-derived determinant that controls primexine patterning in rice, and its orthologs may play a conserved role in the formation of grass-specific exine pattern.
