Qingwen Wu, first author of “Rhamnosyltransferases Involved in the Biosynthesis of Flavone Rutinosides in Chrysanthemum Species”
Current Position: PhD candidate, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine
Education: Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine
Non-scientific interests: Horticulture
Brief bio:
It’s my honor to be admitted to the Research Center of Chinese Herbal Resource Science and Engineering of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in 2019. Under the supervision of Dr. Dongming Ma, we focus on the understanding of biosynthetic pathways of medicinal plants. During my master’s degree, I worked on the flavone rutinosides of the biosynthetic pathway in Chrysanthemum. My research not only shed light on the characterization of flavone rhamnosyltransferase but also illuminate the glycosylation step of flavone rutinosides biosynthesis. I hope these findings will provide a genetic element for the future study on the metabolic engineering of flavonoid rutinosides in Chrysanthemum and its application in synthetic biology.
