#PlantBio20 Experience
Happy to see my twitter handle (@shakeelpbg) on this list.#PlantBio20 a great virtual world summit and a great experience.
Thanks is due to @ASPB and others https://t.co/hG4hcRtBYK— Shakeel Ahmad (@shakeelpbg) August 2, 2020
Somehow ended up in the top 50 ?♂️? I'll call it a win. #PlantBio20 was a definite success and has me thinking about how conferences may operate moving forward. Great work by @ASPB getting everything together and making so much excellent science available to a huge audience ? https://t.co/RN0aDEUYKX

Amazing experience in my first #PlantBio20 meeting!
Loved the talk and the workshops. Definitely, I will see most of them again to make more notes and get new ideas.
I can’t wait to attend it in person next year! #ASPBForward #plant #science— Fernanda Silva-Alvim (@falsalvim) July 31, 2020
Had a great week at #PlantBio20 ? I’m impressed and inspired by the virtual format, diverse and excellent program, and (of course) learning about the latest in plant biology. I’d also like to thank expert moderator @NatalieHenkhaus and others behind the scenes. Well done!

That’s a wrap for me on #PlantBio20 ???? Have to say it very much exceeded expectations! Great week of exciting science and learning new things

For me, being at home in my “mom- peacekeeper- kitchen manager- dog wrangler” role, plus the time zone challenge (working my “real” job until 3pm and then conference until midnight all week) hasn’t been one I’d choose to repeat. #PlantBio20

My take? I’m didn’t manage to get to a single talk. I need to conferences in person to get away #PlantBio20

Day 1 of scientific conference:
Gets there early and gets notebook setup. Reply to a few emails before talks start.Day 5 of scientific conference:
Walks/Logs in 15 min late with that large coffee that has two shots of espresso in it.#PlantBio20— Dr.unk Phytologist loves #PlantBio20 (@DrunkPhyto) July 31, 2020
Now we’re here. Postbac at MSU. Attending #PlantBio20.
Sometimes I still get scared to be vocal. Sometimes I might come off too strong. It’s a work in progress.
But I’ve committed to being my #unapologetic self. & I’ve never been happier.
SO excited for the future to come.

The catering at #PlantBio20 is top-notch this year! Definitely loving the salami and Swiss on ciabatta roll, yogurt, and ripe plum.
Today’s shirt and mask combo is DNA Mutagenesis, in honor of the excellent talks on genome editing this morning. 🙂 pic.twitter.com/Z3zfX8AXEt— Karl Haro von Mogel (@KarlHvM) July 30, 2020
One of my favorite parts about virtual conferences is not waiting months for travel reimbursement! Going virtual makes conferences possible for early careers! #PlantBio20

My fist experience of attending a big virtual conference! I think it goes very well! “Bad times have a scientific value. These are occasions a good learner would not miss” (Ralph Waldo Emerson) @plantae_org @ASPB @ASPB_ECPS #PlantBio20https://t.co/cquJG4UbTp

I enjoyed the Plant Science Decadal Vision 2020–2030 workshop #plantbio20. ?Happy to see that the plant science community is very thoughtful about both technological advances and the challenges ahead but also how to develop further as a community

#PlantBio20 ++ no need to run from one room to another, although the challenge of making it to the most interesting talks is usually fun. I feel a bit lazy right now. pic.twitter.com/NQX1eub77y

Thanks! It really helps re-create the conference experience:
1. Feel the weight of undistributed business cards
2. Necessity of flipping it over my shoulder when visiting the restroom
3. Getting caught still wearing it after-hours
Needs virtual drink tickets tho! 🙂#PlantBio20— Karl Haro von Mogel (@KarlHvM) July 29, 2020
I am SO impressed with today’s #PlantBio20 workshops.
It has felt so natural to #network –even with a virtual format.
& it’s easier than ever to ask questions and engage with others.
Amazing work, @ASPB!

I enjoyed listening to this event at #PlantBio20. Most events on industry careers steer away from talking about foreign applicants because it is a tricky issue. Nonetheless, I wish the discussion wasn’t so centered around domestic applicants. https://t.co/YIoMbxudl1

Despite the time zone differences really enjoying the @ASPB #PlantBio20 conference.
Sad to not be there in person but thank heavens for twitter for meaning we can still #network and keep in touch!#AcademicChatterInTimesofCovid @AcademicChatter

Coffee break was a necessity. Veggies harvest was too apparently!
Can it get any more #PlantBio20 than that? ? pic.twitter.com/43kRHjemKc— Anne-Sophie Bohrer, PhD (@AnsoBohrer) July 29, 2020
Fear of missing out (FOMO) is participating in two #PlantBio20 concurrent sessions at the same time. I want to learn how FDA regulates gene edited crops but can’t afford to miss the bioinformatics resources session. This virtual conference has made me an expert multitasker ? pic.twitter.com/22pIXYU6wW

Cannot express enough how grateful I am for this EDI workshop at #PlantBio20. The wisdom of @BerondaM, Patrick Thomas, Adán Colón-Carmona, and Gustavo MacIntosh is insightful and actionable. I’m proud to be part of such a conscious professional society!

I have so many #plantbio20 talks to catch up on!
