Brief bio: I started postgraduate studies with Prof. Fang Huang in the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Science in 2012. The regulatory mechanism of photosynthesis in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was the topic of my doctoral study. I then worked as a postdoc researcher studying chloroplast genome editing, chloroplast protein translocation and chloroplast quality control in Prof. Wenqiang Yang’s lab in the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Science. We investigated the role of essential chloroplast genome encoded genes in Chlamydomonas using a vitamin-repressible riboswitch system and found a protein named Orf2971 that links chloroplast translocation and protein quality control in Chlamydomonas.
