Brief bio: When I left school, I originally planned to study Biomedicine, which is why I did my bachelor’s thesis in Münster on cystic fibrosis. I soon realised, though, that I did not particularly enjoy working with cell cultures (nor with animals), so I turned my back to biomedicine and my research focus to plants. I did my master’s thesis with Prof. Dr. Antje von Schaewen on the topic of complex-type N-glycosylation in plants and the influence it might have on Brassinosteroid signalling. For my PhD, I then moved to Göttingen to Till Ischebeck’s lab and took a liking to lipid droplets and pollen tubes. Now, as a postdoctoral researcher, I discovered my passion for data and data science, which I can use for plant biology as well as for biomedicine.
