Assistant Professor—Tenure-Track—Bioengineering | Washington State University — Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering
Pullman, Washington, Washington State University’s Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering (VSCEB) invites applications for a full-time, permanent, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level. The position is located on the WSU Pullman campus, with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2027.
The successful candidate is expected to establish a dynamic, externally funded, nationally recognized research program; teach core and elective undergraduate and graduate courses in bioengineering; mentor a diverse group of students; perform professional service; and publish scholarly work.
VSCEB welcomes strong candidates in all areas of bioengineering, particularly candidates who can complement existing departmental strengths in molecular and cellular engineering, synthetic biology, biomanufacturing, tissue engineering, biomechanics, and engineering education, as well as growing expertise in artificial intelligence applications.
Successful candidates will be able to build collaborations with the Elson Floyd College of Medicine at WSU Spokane and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, as well as other departments at WSU.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or another engineering discipline related to bioengineering before the appointment begins.

Candidates with industry experience or the ability to teach capstone design are particularly encouraged to apply.
Nine-month academic salary range: $110,000–$120,000. Placement within the range depends on experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position, or an applicable U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. WSU offers a comprehensive benefits package.
