Reno, Nevada, The Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Biotechnology at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position from candidates conducting cutting-edge, biotechnology-focused research. We seek exceptional scientists whose work aligns with the department’s core mission. This is an academic-year (9-month, “B” contract) position within the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources.
We welcome outstanding applicants ready to build a high-impact, nationally recognized, extramurally funded research program in biotechnology oriented human health & disease, plant science, or arthropod research. The successful candidate will join a collaborative department committed to research excellence, innovative teaching, and meaningful service.

Required qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
A strong record of research productivity commensurate with experience level
A commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.

 
Preferred qualifications:

At least two years of postdoctoral research experience.
A demonstrated history of prior funding.
Teaching experience in the areas of molecular biology, biotechnology, or related fields.
