Aidi Zhang, first author of Transcriptome analysis identifies a zinc finger protein regulating starch degradation in kiwifruit

Brief bio: I started my doctoral study in Professor Kunsong Chen’s research group in Zhejiang University since 2013 and majored in pomology. My supervisor is Professor Xueren Yin. The work presented in the paper combined transcriptomics analysis and molecular biology technologies, as well as functional verification analyses with stable transformation and transient overexpression to explore regulation of kiwifruit ripening processes. Our findings indicate the presence of a key gene for starch degradation and also its regulator, C2H2-type zinc finger AdDof3. Finally, the work gives some clues about the regulation of starch degradation in kiwifruit.
