Brief bio: Being a plant biologist, I am pursuing functional genomics mainly focusing on rice anther development. I have utilized forward and reverse genetics with the aid of bioinformatics tools to characterize the mutants, disclose the key regulators and genes regulatory network that have contributed to plant male gametophyte development. I am still interested in carrying it further. In my Ph.D. project in the Laboratory of Plant Developmental Biology Shanghai Jiao Tong University, under the tutelage of Prof. Dabing Zhang I had worked on the characterization of a novel protein PTC2 that regulates lipid biosynthesis genes and plays a key role in Tapetal Programmed Cell Death and pollen wall patterning in rice. This finding amplifies our understanding of the regulatory network of rice male gametophyte development.

作为一名植物生物学家,我主要从事水稻花药发育的功能基因组学研究。我借助生物信息学工具,利用正向遗传学和反向遗传学来研究雄性不育突变体,揭示植物雄性配子体发育的关键调控因子和基因调控网络。我的博士课题在上海交通大学植物发育生物学实验室张大兵教授的指导下解析了一个细胞核定位的AHL家族AT-hook DNA结合蛋白PTC2(PERSISTENT TAPETAL CELL 2),它参与绒毡层细胞程序性死亡和花粉壁的形成。ptc2突变体的绒毡层细胞延迟降解的表型与之前报道的水稻绒毡层PCD(Programmed Cell Death)突变体ptc1、相似。PTC2在绒毡层PCD中和在花粉壁发育模式建成中的作用,更好的扩展了我们在水稻雄性生殖发育调控网络方面的认识,为今后的分子育种奠定了理论基础。我们的研究结果首次报道了AT hook DNA结合蛋白调控水稻绒毡层PCD和花粉壁发育过程中起到的重要功能,希望能够在不久的将来带给大家更多的PTC2调控下游基因参与花粉壁合成的故事。
