Brief Bio: My passion for horticulture and fruit tree species comes from the central Italy countryside in which I grew up, and the variegated plant species populating the typical family vegetable gardens. After completing my Bachelor and Master degrees in Horticulture and a Ph.D. in Food Biotechnology at the University of Tuscia (Viterbo, Italy), I approached fruit tree breeding at the University of Milan (Italy) during a 5-years Post-Doc. Research activities in my career concerned various fruit tree species (in particular peach and olive), addressing a wide diversity of topics, integrating and applying agronomic, biological and genetic tools in biodiversity exploitation and varietal improvement.
