Brief bio: After completing my M.Sc. in the field of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Siena (Italy), I continued my scientific adventure as a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) in the Section of Plant Biochemistry. It was with this fellowship that I started my journey into the fascinating world of plants and plant metabolites and into the amazing field of mass spectrometry imaging (MSI). During this time, I was challenged to establish a method for imaging chemical compounds in plant samples and to elucidate their physiological functions by studying the localization of their accumulation in different tissues. Currently, I am a researcher at M4I Division of Mass Spectrometry Imaging at the University of Maastricht (Netherlands), where I am further expanding my expertise on MSI and applying it on plant tissue and not!
