Femke de Jong, first author of Attracted to Membranes: Lipid-Binding Domains in Plants

Current Position: Just finished a postdoc position at the section Plant Cell Biology from the Swammerdam Institute of Life Sciences of the University of Amsterdam .

Education: PhD in plant science from the Australian National University

Non-scientific Interests: reading, baking, writing, walking, and cycling

Brief bio: Femke worked in various fields of plant sciences, starting with protoplast proliferation and somatic embryogenesis, then focussed on the spliceosome, glucose-nitrate interaction, phenol glycoside pathway, and now on protein-membrane lipid interactions. Working on these various topics has deepened her fascination for plant sciences. She loves writing about this  and hopes to extend her career in this direction.
