Current position: PhD student in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Physiology of Plants (Ruhr University Bochum, Germany)

Education: BSc in Biology, Msc in Biology (both at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany)

Brief bio:  Plant science emerged as a particular interest of mine early on during my undergraduate studies at Ruhr University Bochum. This University, located in a highly populated region in the Northwest of Germany, has become one of the largest German research universities. For my Master of Science in Biology completed in 2014, I chose to study the biochemistry of nitrilase enzymes from the metal hyperaccumulator plant Arabidopsis halleri in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Physiology. I then took up a PhD project under the supervision of Prof. Ute Krämer in the same department, shifting my focus to copper homeostasis in Arabidopsis thaliana. I expect to complete my PhD later this year (2019) and would like to continue by doing a postdoc abroad to develop further as a plant scientist.
