Brief Biography: Dr. Angkawijaya spent the years 2009 to 2013 pursuing advanced training and post-graduate education in the field of chemical engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), where she was exposed to research involving the use of plant-based resources (cellulose, phytochemicals and lipids) to synthesize value added materials. After obtaining her PhD. degree, she pursued a post-doctoral fellowship (2015-2019) at Academia Sinica Taiwan, to further her knowledge in plant biology. Here, she got a chance to work more about the role of some lipid metabolic genes in plant’s adaptive response and plant development under the guidance of Dr. Yuki Nakamura. These research experiences molded her interest in synthesizing renewable and/or bio-degradable low environmental impact adsorbents, catalysts, carriers for multifaceted applications in waste treatment, drug delivery and plant nutrition. She has recently embarked on her independent research and teaching career at her alma mater (NTUST), as an assistant professor, leading a group of enthusiastic researchers from various economies of the Asia-Pacific.
