Brief bio: I developed my interest in crop genetics during my Master studies at Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, in Yangling, ShannXi, China. Therefore, I decided to do my PhD work under the supervision of Prof. Maria von Korff at the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research in Cologne. There, I developed a strong interest in the morphology and molecular control of inflorescence development in barley. During my PhD research, I found that the barley homolog of CENTRORADIALIS is a strong determinant of spikelet and thus seed number in barley. I currently hold a Postdoctoral position in the group of Prof. Maria von Korff to continue my research on shoot meristem development in barley.
